| Nadra Wilkie, owner/baker, grew up in a South Carolina ‘foodie’ family where she learned to prepare and appreciate fresh, healthy (and some not so healthy) foods. Every Friday night was 'pizza night' where her family topped homemade dough with favorites like red potato and rosemary or goat cheese, tomato and basil or even broccoli and ricotta. Weekends were a time for eating and exploring foods. Her dad’s love of all things flavorful and his open-mind to all kinds of cuisine were invaluable. Nadra's 'sous chef' duties made her love of cuisine grow even more. After living in Europe, where she was in awe of all the baked delicacies, she returned home with a new love...BAKING! While making biscotti, she realized she didn't like how hard the cookie could be. With help from her dad and after several revisions to the recipe, they developed a nice, crispy recipe of the traditional anise almond flavor. For over 10 years, holiday gifts of biscotti became the norm for Nadra's friends and family until she heard 'you should sell this stuff' one too many times. CECI CELA biscotti, LLC was born in November, 2007. The name for her company is French meaning 'a little of this, a little of that'. Why a French name for an Italian cookie company? Nadra just completed her 10th year of teaching high school French. So, from a traditional family recipe for anise almond biscotti grew over 20 different fabulous flavors. What makes these biscotti so special? The flavor and they won't break your teeth! Some folks use painting, photography or writing as a creative outlet. For Nadra, baking does it! As an added bonus...she makes others happy with her creations. |
